Pope? Nope (II)

I am surprised that this is the Pope's first visit to the Western Hemisphere as Pope. I remain surprised that the Pope wore those dashing, revolutionary, positively papal, red-as-Jesus'-blood Prada shoes.

However, I am not surprised that the Pope's "more contentious views, less publicly visible when he first began as leader of the world's billion Catholics, seem to be coming more to the fore" (International Herald-Tribune, Pope shows more signs of swinging to the right in public).
